I started to have the hints while I was driving last Wed. It was raining, so I put the wipers on. It irritates me damn much. I thought its just me being stressed up (driving in the rain). Then, I had this constant throbbing headache, rated 8/10, travels down to my neck, alleviated with paracetamol, aggravated with head movements. My associated symptoms include photophobia, nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. At that time, my diagnosis was ACUTE MIGRAINE!

The next day, waking up with vertigo (rase macam semua bende berpusing-pusing dgn ligatnya), nauseated, and again I vomit up all my stomach content. Yummyliscious For the past few days, thats how my days went. I changed my diagnosis to LABYRINTHITIS, bought some Stemetil from the chemist. Alhamdulillah, getting better. I’m up for work today.

Pertama

Budak lelaki, 16 thn, menunggang motosikal tanpa helmet. MVA (motor-vehicle accident) -motorbike

vs car. Setibanya di Jab Kecemasan HSA, tidak sedar diri, pendarahan aktif di kepala, hidung, mulut, dan kaki. Went through trauma pathway. Ended up in ICU with brain injury, liver injury, pneumothorax, fractured skull and tibia , on full life-support. Query BRAIN DEATH.

Day 1- family was notified. Medically, brain death means “mati”. Bapa nampak OK, menerima dengan tenang.

Day 2- brain death test done. Deceased at 7.15 pm, when the 2nd braindeath test was done.

Basically, I don’t actually meet him. I met his body. He seems like a good boy, who will grow up as a good man. May he rest in peace. Amin.

Kedua

Perempuan, 19 tahun, kemalangan motosikal dalam perjalanan pulang ke rumah pada pukul 1 pagi. Terlanggar pentas yg dibina oleh kaum Cina sempena Pesta Hantu. Fractured femur (tulang peha), blunt trauma to the chest, subcutaneous emphysema (air or gas under the skin).

What puzzled me was, where was she from at 1 in the morning? Riding a motocyle with no lights. According to the mother “dia keluar ngan kawan-kawan, selalu je lalu jalan tu malam2″. 

Ketiga

Perempuan, 23 tahun, unmarried sent to ICU for observation after delivery. A SINGLE PARENT. She cant tell who’s the father of her child is. Was in the ICU for the 2nd times. Both ICU admission were due to the same reason. A known case of HOCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy), organ jantung abnormally tebal. Dinasihatkan oleh previous doctor not to get pregnant, but…

I had a chat with her. Found out that she was an adopted child, never meet her biological parents. Her adoptive parents died 6 years ago in a road accident. Was raped by her adoptive brother who she’s currently living with. Pernah dipenjarakan 2 kali kerana ditangkap khalwat, didenda berkali-kali. Harap awak sihat dan menjalani hidup yang lebih baik. You have my number, give me a call if you need a shoulder to lean on.

3 anak bangsa yang saya kenali, yang membuatkan saya terduduk. Dan berharap yang tiga kisah ini hanyalah rekaan semata-mata.
